Technical Performance

Why Double Covered?

Double covering uses two covering yarns in opposite twist directions to create a balanced and stable yarn structure with controlled torque.

1. The Elastic Core

Latex rubber or spandex/elastane is selected according to the required stretch and recovery.

2. Inner & Outer Covering

Inner covering is applied in the Z direction, followed by outer covering in the S direction.

First layer (S-twist): Locks the rubber in place, sets base tension.
Second layer (Z-twist): Wraps opposite to the first, cancelling out yarn torque.
Result: A yarn that stays straight, weaves cleanly, and dyes evenly.

3. Customizable Construction

Covering yarn, yarn specification, twist level, and process settings can be adjusted to product requirements.

Raw White Undyed base — ready for downstream dyeing to any color spec

Dope-dye Black Pigment-in-polymer black — colorfast from the yarn stage

Custom Color On request — via our in-house dye house downstream
